Howdy folks : ). First post here, as I'm a new friend of Faern's. Nice to meet you all!

7:00 Up, take dog out, feed him, let the cat out, feed her, then check email/Tribe while I have tea and wake up
9:00 Take dog for looong walk in the park, come home and brush/wash him (as needed), shower myself, too.
10-12 Work on paperstuff (bills, calls, contracts, etc.)
12:00 Dog out and fed lunch, my lunch
12:30 Work on art for as long as is feasible.
3:00 Dog out and played with for 30 minutes or so
3:30 More art, or on Tribe if I'm lazy, Also home projects (garden, garage stuff).
6:00 Dog out, then fed last time, make human dinner, maybe?
6:30 Watch stuff that's on Tivo while making copious lists of what I SHOULD be doing with my day to make it more productive <lol>.
10:00 Dog out, and try, usually in vain, to sleep.

What it should look like is the above, with a hour of exercise in the 7-9AM period, and more art in any other open period : ). It's hard to keep this schedule, though, because my husband's is different every day at work, so sleeping at the right time and eating well is hard. Wah <lol>.

I wish I had an average day, sometimes. It really depends on the AOC. Homework and such. Plus they have various things I should show up to at times. Keeps one on their toes.

        i ask this question because
there are certain things i'd like to happen most days, like yoga
certain things that do happen most every day that don't really need to, like coffee
and there are certain things that happen most days that get taken for granted, like the morning cuddle with the chubby kitty
now, i am merely acknowledging these things, not looking for any advice on how to work anything out, just taking a look at the day
and, no, none are like the day before nor do i expect them to be like the day after

I too spend too much time on things that don't need to happen over and over, consistently. Coffee is one but one I allot for,.... and at present learning to work my schedule to have cuddle time with the baby kitten! But take right now for example... I should be either walking/yoga/exercise of some sort, or working on stuff that I'm not. !!

All I can say is I'm questioning this very subject. I set myself the commitment to complete the unpacking of my room by... several weeks back, and it still isn't done. I'm resetting it for today, that's what I do. I'm asking myself how many days I want to continue the unproductive pattern before I get this done so I can "get started" with everything else!!

    um pretty much like this:
    6am- wake up
7am- get out of bed (except Wednesday- I have to be AT work at 7am).
    7:15am- 7:30am commute to work
8am-10pm (really if you are asking for averages this is how it is): work
    10pm- commute home
10:30-11:00pm- get home and snuggle with my man and spend time with our rabbit
    11:30- 3am- stuff ;0)

    H.

My days go the way they are supposed to- I try to like each day for what it is.

That is a lot of work!!.. what do you do??

I get to work by 9-9:30 and work til 7pm-ish (I don't do lunch break) then usually 3 or 4 nights a week I'll spend a couple of hours working. Between work I have supper, wife time, kid time, art / writing / reading, sleep... back to work.

Weekends are shopping, yard work, house work, dealing with BS like insurance, etc. and then fun stuff with the family, eating out, concentrated art time, being annoyed it's Sunday night (becuase of the upcoming Monday), and then repeat.

Well, I guess I have an average life. My days are quite varried and don't really pan out as similar outside of work.

Work: Sunday - Thursday 10am-8pm (sometimes I leave at 6:30, sometimes I start at 11:30)

Fridays are music days - Mix rekkids, produce tunage, listen, absorb and try to inspire myself to keep at it through the week. I also stir the compost and make sure the plants aren't dying out in the yard.

Saturdays are lady and me days. Usually this implies being together and not doing much regimented crap, but we occasionally go out and play. I tend not to make any plans. Spontaneity is good sometimes.

I try to get sustenance in in the morning. I try to get more a lunch time. I always get something by dinner time.

In between times I try to convince myself to exercise more, be more positive about things and stuff, be open to worldly goings on and stay on top of how much I am afraid of the road that our government drives (i.e. the real news). I'm pretty successful in that aside from the exercise part.

It's good to see that many other creative and inspired people are also victims of the daily grind. Gotta keep on living for something, right?

Peaces to all of yas out there. Stay on top of what you love and do what ya gotta do.

my new thoughts on what I wrote above, and sAro's comments as well.

Getting yourself out on the court of life requires discomfort. It doesn't feel very good, and it certainly ain't cozy and warm. Sometimes, you might even feel like you're gonna die.

              But it's worth it.

I don't sleep enough and I am often feeling under-the-weather because of it...BUT...I don't really care much because my days are always packed and 99.9% of the time they are packed with things I enjoy. And the parts I don't enjoy (like a specific job)....I stick those out to get back to the awesome parts.

You have to live life the way you want. No one is going to make your life awesome but yourself. :0)

And sex. Lots of sex helps. ;0) Sex with someone truly great, amazing, and someone you are in love with (or, for those not in love...good flings!...gotta keep all in mind of course).

                H.

Lack of sleep prevents your brain from storing and organizing memories and events. So, if you do not sleep enough to hit REM sleep for about 4 hours (I'm told it takes 3 hours to get there for the average person) you may be losing a lot of things that you have learned or experienced from day to day. Also, I've heard that lack of sleep causes people to have a much more thoroughly negative outlook on life and experiences. People that sleep well are more likely to remain positive and retain information (especially important for children). Just what I've heard and I've found it an interesting topic of late. I feel like my poor sleep habits as a youth and adolescent may have negatively impacted my growing up and may be contributing to the negativity that I still feel today. Food for thought. There are a couple of researchers workng on the topic of note that I heard on an NPR program a ways back. But, since I probably do not get enough sleep, I can't recall their names - lol.

intriguing. I really need to get more sleep too.
I have the habit of staying up extra late, sometimes to get things done but more often not, and I think I'm staying up because I feel incomplete with my day. The trick is to get myself to do what I need to at all hours I am available to.

Well, I appreciate your opinion on this but I do not think that it applies to me. I am quite positive and I have been living this lifestyle (while it has tamed since I left college...if you can imagine that) for quite awhile.

Yes, there are times when I feel under-the-weather...but then I take time to rest and heal. Then I am fine. My schedule will flux back to something more "reasonable" but, for right now, it allows me to do the things I need/want to do.

Again, this is just how my personality works out with this- I am not arguing with your point- I just am saying it is not valid for me.

I get plenty of sleep, when it comes down to it. I am a hard worker and I retain information extremely well.

We must all work with our own bodies and learn our own patterns. We must not always worry about statistics.

                    H.

Oh, I totally agree. I just thought it was some relevant information that some people might appreciate having. I did not intend it to be a lecture for you and a means to get you to change your lifestyle. We all have our decisions to make and I'm very happy to hear that yours are working for you. Keep on with what keeps you going, lady. Everyone sleeps. Many people do not know what happens while they are sleeping.

since i wake up every 2 or 3 hours usually this could explain why my memory is quite so retardedly lame. i think i am stuck in a timezone elsewhere as weekends i can lie in and be fine. weekend days there is a powerful need to get up at 06.30 and head off to work. maybe my head is still in virginia time......it will learn to accept it's actual location of one i swear! thanks for the info though. =)
